I'm playing along with CASE Study where this month's muse, Donna, has provided this gorgeous inspiration:

I love this format of card - the offset panel.  I rotated and flipped the offset and layered the panel.  I used my STAMPlorations Vignette Trendy Feathers, stamping the feathers with Distress Inks and the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.  If you want to join in the monthly challenge (Stamps and Feathers) and the current sketch, there are only 3 days left, so get a wriggle on!

Back with the online Stencilling class, here's a card made with the leaves stencil which wasn't dry yesterday.  I picked up some clear modelling paste today and have been playing with that, so expect some more stencilled cards soon :)

ETA:
My friend Geri suggested that this card would be perfect for The Card Concept Challenge, Texture.  Well, it's certainly got texture in spades (or palette knives to be precise): texture paste, vellum, burlap, card, gems, a brad... in fact it's got so much texture and depth there's no way it will fit into an envelope.

I've got to admit, I've shied away from this new challenge because for me, some of the style definitions overlap, so it's not cut and dried as to which category applies.  What style is this?  Clean and Layered (yup), Classy and Elegant (I think so), or even Freestyle Collage?  I'll wait to see what the design team say....

  13. I think all of the different "design styles" overlap each other...even a CAS card can still be classy and elegant! I am no expert, but I think we all see what we want to see...and styles are very subjective! I see Classy and Elegant in your card. The beautiful layering, the vellum, the gold, the bow, the gem...every element perfectly placed and a TON of texture too. This is beautiful! One of my favorites!

  14. Holy Moly! So glad Geri suggested you link up to The Card Concept! This is one spectacular card. And I think you nailed the style right on the head- I too see classy and elegant, collage and clean and layered! I do not think there is a right or wrong answer and your card has elements of all of them. No matter the style, it is stunning!
