Hello! It's my turn to host the challenge at Seize The Birthday, and I've gone for Splish Splash. You can interpret it how you like - rain, puddles, swimming, bath time, splashy drinks, or just getting all splishy splashy with your inks on the card. Or any other way you can think of - just let us know if it's not obvious.

I chose this theme with absolutely no forethought as to what I might make, and it took me ages to settle on an idea. But of course it ended up with splashing lots of ink around and, erm, an alcohol theme ;)
I stamped the two glasses (Stamps By Me) in InkOn3 Fadeout ink on watercolour paper, then used Distress Inks to splash and splash onto the card. I did use a few Pinterest images for inspiration, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I matted the panel onto hot pink and purple linen textured card. The sentiment is from the same Stamps By Me set, and the Happy Birthday is by Gummiapan.com.
Pop along to the Seize The Birthday blog to see how the Design Team and our surprise party guests have interpreted this theme.
If you don't feel like splishing and splashing, you can still play along with our Anything Goes birthday theme. Hope to see you in the gallery!
This challenge was your idea but I'm glad to see that you kind of went off on an angle with it. By that I mean I really enjoyed seeing the splashy wine glasses. All I could think of was fishes hence my card.
ReplyDeleteShirley, I was hoping you were going to go with wine for your challenge! This is just perfection and a card I would buy in a store...it is that good! WOW!
ReplyDeleteWow! The inky effect on the glasses looks amazing Shirley, I love how you throw ink around and create fabulous cards! Thankyou for the fun challenge too, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a great way to use the splish/splash challenge, Shirley. Really was a challenge for me. Pretty card. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love your inking splashes and those glasses are amazing. Thanks for the challenge, I found it a lot of fun to play.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good happy hour and if the wine is flowing/splashing freely, it must be a good one! I love this stamp set and just took a peek to see if it was still available. So far no luck. That sentiment is one I would totally use! I adore this card Shirley!
ReplyDeleteFantastic card! I had a real chuckle when I saw it! Brings back happy memories:)
