Floral Birthday
I've been trying to resist buying woodblock stamps, but I love the brushstrokes stamps by Penny Black, so I had to make an exception when this one was on sale.
I coloured it with Distress Markers, spritzed and stamped the main image, then just coloured the small flower, stamped it off, then spritzed and stamped it in the opposite corner. Added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and doodled a border to bring it all together.
I'm entering this into:
The Paper Players - CAS Floral
CAS(E) This Sketch
Fusion
and Simon Says Wednesday - Spring Pinterest Inspiration
(the colour scheme from the easter baskets on the right, and the flower on the hat, top left).

Oh, this is gorgeous! I love your fabulous take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers for spring, Shirley! Thanks for sharing them with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley, Thanks for your visit & sweet comment - popped over to see your blog, and how amazing are these PB florals. Wonderful coloring, and I nearly succumbed to this image on Ellen Hutson's last night, with the sale. I opted for the new clear florals that Jill Foster demo'd, (plus they're easier to store!). You've used this image to make a fabulous card. I'll be joining as your newest follower, and hope you'll come back & visit me again when you have time. TFS
ReplyDeleteOops, didn't see my picture, so didn't realize I was already a follower until I tried to join again! LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love the blending of colors.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Shirley! I love these stamps, even if they are wood mount.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love this PB stamp and the way you colored it!
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing that sets you apart. Your rendition of the PB stamp is perfect and flawless and would be just that if you hadn't added the doodled frame. But, oh my gosh, the doodled frame makes your perfect rendition even MORE BETTER! I aspire, once again, I aspire! Thank you, teacher!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteBE STILL MY RAPIDLY BEATING HEART! Shirley girl, this tops 'the list' (of favorite Shirley cards). Stunning, breathtakingly beautiful, a one layer masterpiece....I'm pretty much at a loss for words! The doodled border....sigh!
