Pretty Flamingo

I was lucky enough to win this fabulous Big and Bold Tickled Pink Flamingo from Colorado Craft Company, so I thought I'd share what I've been doing with it, and play along with a couple of challenges at the same time.

After stamping it onto my normal cardstock I sloshed on some watercolour with Distress Inks, then masked it while I painted and spritzed the Distress Ink background.  On separate card I stamped the gorgeous tropical floral garland, coloured and fussy cut it, then I mounted the flamingo behind a mountboard frame, with the garland spilling on top.  Now all I need is a glass frame to hold it!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #312

 

Hello, and welcome to this week's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations.  This week's card was made in exactly the same way as last week's: rummage through stash, find stencil-embossed panel, add ink, add images.

The stencil background is Tribal Triangles, the text is from Art Marks 3, the red stencilling is from Make Marks 5 and the flower is from Blooming Buds.  I adhered the main stem to the panel, then added the buds and leaves (fortunately it wasn't quite stuck down at the top so I could squeeze the leaf in).  I used a black Stabilo pencil around the outline and smoothed it with a damp brush.

I've never been one to interpret a sketch faithfully, and I haven't done today!  This was actually made from bits and bobs that have been lying around in my stash forever.

Hello, it's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and today I've got something sweet for you.  I found the Shutters stencil-embossed panel in my stash and set about adding colour to it with Kitsch Flamingo, Twisted Citron and Speckled Egg, using Make Marks 5 stencil.  Then I added some stamping from Art Marks 3 and topped it all off with a sundae from Sugar Rush, also found in my stash.  The sentiment is from And Coffee.  I added some black pen marks to complete the card.

STAMPlorations Release - Super Hero

Hello, it's Day 1 of the STAMPlorations release, and we're starting with my set, Super Hero.  

The sharp-eyed among you will have noticed on the sneak peeks that there are no sleeves/cuffs on the Super Hero - this was (ahem) a design feature ;)  But what it does mean is that you can draw the cuffs wherever you want them.  

Today's hero is wearing gloves; check out the sleeveless tunic and wristbands on this guy, and no gloves on this girl.  I made a pop-up box, stamped and fussy cut my images, and stencilled Dots All Over on the side panels.  The flash, number and star are adhered to strips of acetate.

Next is another one for the girls.  I added a few extra sweeps of hair colour, then drew in couple of lines with black pen.  I also added some detail on the tunic and boots.

With all of the super heroes, I've only used double sided tape down the torso so that the head, arms, cape and legs are free, which adds movement.  You could bend them outwards like I did on this card:

My final card uses the buildings and star stamp, along with a sentiment from Baa Baa.  Once I'd stamped and stencilled the scene I cut it out using a circle die and mounted it onto my card along with the star and sentiment strip.

Seize The Birthday - Three Shades of Green

I've made a spring floral arrangement with stamps and dies from The Greetery and added a couple of washi strips.  I was sorely tempted to add splattering but managed to control myself :)

Hello!  It's Tuesday, so we've got some more fabulous STAMPlorations inspiration for you.  Today I've used Layered Vase to make a quick get well card.

I inked the stamps with Distress Inks and spritzed them generously before applying them to the card.  As I was spritzing the stamps I managed to get a fine misting of the pink on the card, so the only thing to do was add lots of splattering :)

The sentiment is made from Skinny Sentiments letters.
