STAMPlorations Inspiration #176

Time for some inspiration at STAMPlorations, and we're still flying along with our Things With Wings celebration until the end of the month.  All wing-themed products are 15% off, no coupon needed.  If you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get an extra 20% off all stamps, stencils and dies in the store.

I decided not to use any colour (wot, no Distress Inks?!?!?!) and let the images speak for themselves. Simply stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on white card, and a sentiment from Art Marks.

I'm entering this into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use More Than One Stamp

Seize The Birthday - Patterned Paper

It's time for another Seize The Birthday challenge, and this week we're using patterned paper.  I've a chocolate sundae using Apple Blossom's Fizz!Pop!Party! set.  The offcut of woodgrain served as a counter, and I added a gold diecut sentiment from CUTplorations.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for some fabulous inspiration from the team, and our Surprise Party Guest, SonjaK from Art of Stamping.  If you're not into patterned paper, you can still play along with any birthday-themed project.

Muse Christmas Visions 100th Challenge Christmas Party

It's Muse Christmas Vision's 100th challenge, and I could't let it pass without playing along.  Here's the muse card for this challenge, provided by Chriss:

Muse
I went with the poinsettias, swooshed background and large sentiment bottom-right, but did a negative print using an embossing folder and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  The diecut sentiment (Concord & 9th) provides the pop of colour.

One more card for the Christmas card stash!  Why not play along - there's prizes to be won!

Butterfly Twofer

This month's Twofer challenge is all about butterflies, so how could I not play along with my Layered Butterflies set??

I made the first card for the CAS Watercolour Challenge - Rainbow, then realised I hadn't watercoloured, I'd sponged and spritzed.  Duh!  But I am entering it into AAA Cards - Inspired By Nature. The inspiration came from something I found on Pinterest.

ETA: Apparently it does qualify for CAS Watercolour Challenge, so I'm in there!

My second card came about from using one of my new toys from my trip to Port Sunlight on Saturday, an 8x11 Stampendous Creative Palette (basically a gel plate, thinner than the Gelli Plate, and crucially at half price).  I used Dylusions paints on the palette, and also stencilled with them using STAMPlorations stencils.  I stamped the butterfly then coloured it with coloured pencils, making a pattern on the wings as I went.  The sentiment is also from STAMPlorations.

I'm adding this one to the Simon Says Monday challenge - Stencil It.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #174

It's all about Things With Wings on the STAMPlorations blog.  We've got a month-long blog hop and linky party, check it out here.

Throughout the month all wing-themed products are 15% off - no coupon needed.  And if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get another 20% off.

For today's card I diecut a CUTplorations Dragonfly from Oxide-smooshed photo paper, and used a part of a Bloomtangled #1 Coverplate diecut for a bit of white-on-white detail.  The sentiment is from Noteworthy.  I attached the dragonfly just by the body, and tilted the wings slightly.  Here's a closer look:

Seize The Birthday - It's Just a Number

It's a new challenge at Seize The Birthday, and this time it's Just A Number.  If you haven't got a numbered birthday card to hand, you can still play along with any birthday-themed project.

I've used one of my all-time favourite Penny Black stamps, spritzing the first stamping, letting it dry, then re-stamping for a sharp image.  It's useful to have a stamping platform for this technique, but not essential as the first stamping becomes so blurred that it doesn't matter if the second stamping isn't perfectly aligned.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for some fab inspiration from the design team, and our surprise party guest, SonjaK, and play along with us.

Today I've used the large outline stamp from Layered Butterflies.  I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black, then sloshed on some Distress Re-inkers in Carved Pumpkin and Pickled Raspberry, and blasted it with an air duster.
