Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

It's time for another challenge at Seize The Birthday, and it's Anything Goes (as long as it's a birthday project).  I made this kingfisher stamp and watercoloured it with Distress Inks, and added leaves from Paper Artsy, and a sentiment from STAMPlorations.  This bird's got a split personality - when he's coloured in browns he can easily pass off as a kookaburra (I'll show you that another time).

I've used the colours from The Challenge, my first time playing there.  The colours mixed to produce a touch of brown on the leaves, but it was unintended, so hopefully I'm still in ;)

Pop on over to Seize The Birthday to see the fabulous cards that the design team have created for your inspiration, and join in the fun.

  1. Wow Shirley, this looks amazing I love your bird, can't wait to see it as a kookaburra as I used to hear their fab laugh every morning in my old house- miss waking up to the sound. You say you make your own stamps- so clever, how do you do that. Great card and love the hand scribbled lines, x

  2. I don't know my birds, but I sure love this little guy! Isn't this coloring technique just awesome and you did a fabulous job. We almost don't even have to use a stamp, rather just splotch and see what picture it looks like, same as gazing at those cumulus clouds we did as kids. You are ahead of me in the SYS2 class. I will get my cards done eventually.

  14. I wasn't sure if this was more scribbling and sploshing, but as I read that you made the stamp, I guess it isn't! Either way it's fantastic, Shirley ... such a fabulous kingfisher! Can't wait to see it morph into a kookaburra! Anita :)
