STAMPlorations Inspiration #208

It's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and today we're focusing on Deepti's range of stamps, Dee's Artsy Impressions.  From now till 25 March Deepti's stamps are 10% off, no coupon needed, and if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get another 20% off these and other stamps, dies and stencils in the store.

I used Live Love Ride with a sentiment from Balloons and Banners and a rosette made with stamps from Frames and Flowers.

In my village on the first Saturday in July there's a church procession.  It's called Coffee Day, but nobody can actually say why it's called that.  The procession is headed by the church leaders, followed by the Sunday schools, the Scout packs, brass bands, general congregation and bringing up the rear are two shire horses pulling wagons decorated with paper flowers.  The wagons hold the smaller children who are too young to walk the course.  The horses' harnesses are also decorated with flowers.

Seize The Birthday - Dots and Stripes

Hello, and welcome to a new challenge at Seize The Birthday!  Our optional topping for this challenge is Dots And Stripes, but if you don't fancy that, you can still play along with any birthday-themed project.

The cow and 'grass' stamps are by Tim Holtz, and the birthday sentiment is from Dee's Artsy Impressions at STAMPlorations.

Our surprise party guest is Tenia Nelson of Jazzy Paper Designs.  Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to see cards from Tenia and the rest of the design team, and play along with us.

ETA:  I'm adding this to Day of the Month Challenge, Want You To Be Happy Day, at Cornelia's suggestion.

Watermarking

I'm over on the STAMPlorations blog tonight with four cards using a stamp from the current STAMP club set, Bloomful, which you can see on the background of this card.

I sponged a card panel with Distress Oxides then spritzed my stamp with water before stamping onto the card. The longer you leave the stamp in position the better the image 'bleaches' a watermark.  I added a large helenium image coloured with Distress Inks and pencils, and a sentiment banner.  I almost always stamp sentiments in black, but I thought black would have been too harsh on this card.

I'm entering this into The Flower Challenge - Anything Goes

and Simon Says Monday Challenge - Feminine/Girly

STAMPlorations Inspiration #207

Hello, and welcome to Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations blog  This week we're focusing on Becca's line of stamps, Big Grins by Becca Cruger.  From now till 18 March all Becca's stamps are 10% off, no coupon needed.  And if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get a further 20% off.

I've used Sweet and Sassy Mom, and because I was using a bright, bold background, I wanted to keep the flowers uncoloured for impact.  That stripy border down the side is made by using one of the stamps from Llama Tell You.

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for some more fabulous inspiration using Becca's stamps, and don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store.

Hello, and welcome to Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations.  This week we're focusing on my line of stamps, The Bee's Knees.  From now till 11 March they will be 10% off, no coupon needed.  And if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get another 20% off, yay!

I've used Hashtag Walkies for my card.  This little whippet isn't too keen on being colour coordinated with its owner, and is dreaming of a more individual look, like her little friend, lol!

We've got a fab prize for one randomly selected entry:

The winner chosen by the Design Team will have their entry published in the magazine along with a profile, and a chance to guest design in a future challenge.

This Art Impressions stamp has been sitting on my desk waiting to be used for, oh, well over a year.  I couldn't put it away otherwise I'd forget all about it, so today it got its first outing.  The sentiment is from Paper Artsy Elinazinski Art ZA26, and the Happy Birthday is from Altenew.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for some more inspiration from our surprise party guest, Julie, and the rest of the design team, and hopefully we'll see you in the gallery.

I used the new ARTplorations stencil Faces: Pensive stencil, but I didn't stencil the eyelashes so that I could draw in some eyes.  The sentiment is from Bold Sentiments: Fabulous , and the other stencils I used are ARTplorations stencil Bloom Boldly and ARTplorations Stencil Pebble Waves.

For her scrunchy I die cut one of the mandalas from CUTplorations Dies Bloomdala Bliss: Felicity.

Mmmm.... Coffee, Anyone?

Helloooo!  I recently got the Zen Coffee Cup Layering Dies and I wanted to try them out using patterned paper. I cut one solid outline cup in white, then the filigree flower from patterned paper and adhered it on top of the solid diecut using bookbinders glue in a fine nozzle applicator.  For the shadow I smudged Distress mini pads in Spun Sugar and Shabby Shutters across the card, rubbed with a piece of kitchen roll then splattered water and blotted.  The sentiment is from my set And Coffee.

This is going into the CAS Mix Up challenge - dimensional diecuts (+ stamping + my choice splattering)

STAMPlorations are having a coffee-themed sale here, so if you're thinking of stocking up on coffee-themed stamps, get on over.

Stamps and dies are Altenew Beautiful Day, birthday disc from Craftwork Cards (ancient stash), number dies from Winnie & Walter.

Christmas Kickstart - Festive Felines

I'm playing along for the first time in the Christmas Kickstart challenge, where the theme is Festive Felines.

Most of my Christmas stamps are packed away, but I have a small stash of already-stamped images, and I found this little kitty in the midst of them.  And seeing as he's a Penny Black image, I'm playing along with Penny Black Saturday challenge Anything Goes.

My first Christmas card of 2019!

Craft Stamper Take It, Make It

Welcome to a new Craft Stamper Take It, Make It challenge!  It's Anything Goes with rubber or polymer stamps.

We've got a fabulous prize for one randomly chosen winner this month:

The winner chosen by the Design Team will get their card featured in Craft Stamper magazine, together with a two page profile, a profile on the blog and a guest design spot in a future challenge.  What's not to like?

Seize The Birthday - Black And White Only

Hello, and welcome to a new challenge at Seize The Birthday.  For this challenge, we're using black and white only, but if you're not comfortable doing that, you can join in with any birthday project, any colour!

I've used a Tim Holtz blueprint stamp to make a masculine birthday card.  Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to see what our guest designer, Julie Beech, and the rest of the team have made, then play along with us.

STAMPlorations Hey, Love Hop and Linky Party - Reminder

Just popping by with a little reminder about the STAMPlorations Hey, Love hop and linky party.  There are loads of ways to win, both by commenting and by uploading your creation to the linky  - check them out here.  If you haven't got any suitable stamps, Shery has even provided three fabulous free digi images for you to use.

I made a gift tag to go with these wooden coasters:

I used my new Carved Flowers set to create a flower in the corner and a border down the left-hand side.  The sentiment is from one of my first sets, Rosebuds.  That should have been it, but I managed to smudge the Distress Oxide inks so I took a wet paintbrush and spread the colours around.  I also touched along the border with the wet brush to allow some of the ink to bleed.  Then I grunged it up with a credit card that had been dragged through Distress Ink.

I do hope you'll find the time to hop along and link up - you'd be mad to miss it!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #201

It's STAMPlorations Inspiration Tuesday, and today I've got a butterfly for you, but it's made from flower and leaf petals from my new set, Carved Flowers.

I stamped the images in Distress Oxides, then watercoloured the background with Distress Inks.  I used a black fineliner to draw the body and antennae.

Hello!  We're having a Hop and Linky Party over at STAMPlorations, and there's $100 worth of prizes in the form of products, gift certificates and coupon codes.  Check out all the details on the STAMPlorations blog here.

I've used my new set, Carved Flowers, to make another bouquet.  I used Distress Inks direct to the stamps, spritzed then stamped onto mixed media paper, dragged the edge of a Distress Ink mini pad for stalks, and watercoloured the background.  Then I just added the XOXO diecut (two layers, top layer inked and spritzed).

Twofer Birds

I'm playing along in another challenge, I can't believe it.  I'm surpassing my expectations already.  These Dyan Reaveley stamps (and a stencil used on the grass area) were a magazine freebie, and are perfect for Darnell's Twofer challenge.

The sentiment on the left-hand card is from one of my sets, Birds of Paradise.  All the other stamps are from the freebie set.

I'm entering this second one into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Clean and Simple

Other freebies in the same magazine included stamps and stencils from Ranger Letter It, Dina Wakley and Wendy Vecchi (great haul!!).  Watch this space....

Time for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday, and today our optional topping is stamping only.  If you're not comfortable with this and want to add diecuts, embossing, embellishments or whatever, you can still play along with any birthday-themed project.

I've used Inked Flora from Altenew on a smooshed background.

Bokeh Butterfly

I've got another card for a few more challenges (yay!)

I've had this Tim Holtz butterfly for ages but never got round to inking it up, and seeing as one of my sort-of-New-Year's-resolutions is to tackle Mt NBUS, I thought it was high time it got an inking.  The bokeh circles were achieved by twizzing mini spongers round on the spot.  I then spritzed the circles with water, dabbing it off quickly to reveal - distressed bokeh.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

So, I'm playing along at:

CAS Mix Up - Bokeh (plus stamping and sponging)

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Clean & Simple

Fusion 5th Anniversary challenge - inspiration photo
Less Is More - water (spritzed onto distress inks)
