Hello Baby!

I'm up on the STAMPlorations blog with some stencilled backgrounds using a gel plate.  Pop on over for a gander!  This panel reminded me of a baby blanket, so my card was born!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #304

Hello, it's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and I'm always looking for inspiration for sympathy cards.  I don't like to make them too bright, but neither do I like to make them too dull and insipid.

Today I went for pinks.  I started by masking the left and bottom margins of the white card, and sponged Victorian Velvet distress ink in the lower left-hand corner, then stamped the images from Beautiful You in the same ink.  Unfortunately the washi tape that I'd masked with was quite absorbent and the stems seeped through, so I chopped off the lower margin, stamped the flower sprig in black, added the sentiment from Blossom Overture and mounted the cropped panel onto pink hammered card.

Seize The Birthday - Transparency or Vellum

Time for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday, and Ashwini has chosen Transparency or Vellum, but don't worry if that's not your thing, you can still play along with any birthday-themed creation.

I was inspired by the card that Laura Dovalo made for the MFT launch of this die.  I didn't have the big balloons stencil so I made my own by die cutting some other MFT balloons.  I added a narrow strip of foam tape underneath the 'Big' so that all the sequins don't fall down to the bottom of the card.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the team, and from our surprise party guest, Julie, and play along with us.

Not one to waste a good die-cutting here's what I did with the cut out letters.

I love a good twofer!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #302

Hello, it's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and today I've go a masculine card for you (my New Year's resolution is to make more masculine cards - I think I make the same resolution every year, so its not working, is it?)

I've paired Walking Boots with a sentiment from Wanderlust.  The card background is a Distress mop-up piece from my stash.  I stamped the sentiment and sloshed a bit of brown, then watercoloured and fussy cut the boots then adhered them onto the card front.

Seize The Birthday - Snowy Background

Hello, and welcome to a new year of Seize The Birthday!  Our first theme of the year is Snowy Background, chosen by Barb.

As with all our challenges, you can always play along with Anything Goes if you prefer.

I used a Tim Holtz background stamp on blue card, and a mason jar layered stamp set from The Greetery.  The flowers are also Tim Holtz.  I inked in the stalks, as you'd normally see them through a glass jar.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #301

Hello, and Happy New Year from the STAMPlorations Team!   I've got a New Year card for today's Inspiration post, made with a background using one of Sanna's stencils, Art Flowers 1.  It's actually a reverse mop up from a card I made for the launch of Sanna's stencil.

I diecut a hologram balloon using Shaker Balloons #3, and diecut the numbers from gold card using the Numbers Plate die, and cut a pelmet using the scallop edge die from ATC Tag Builder.
