Seize The Birthday - Floral

It's time for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday, and our theme is floral.

I stamped these funky flowers from Artemis onto a Gelli print made with lace and stencils, stitched a border around the panel then matted it onto purple card before adhering it to my main card base.  Added some Crystal Stickles on the petals, and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted, and it's done!

Our Surprise Birthday Guest for the next two challenges is Patti from Stationery Styles.  Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for Patti's and the Design Team's wonderful creations, and add your project to the gallery.  If you don't want to use florals, that's fine, as long as it's a birthday project.

See you there!

ETA:  Added to CAS Mix Up - thanks for the prompt, Loll!

Canvas Panel 21st Card

I'm over on the STAMPlorations blog tonight with a step-by-step on how I made this 21st birthday card.  I'm entering it into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, which is celebrating its 7th birthday, and the theme is - yup, Happy Birthday!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #69 - Sold!

It's Inspiration Tuesday over at STAMPlorations, and I've got a little card for two love birds who recently bought their first house together.  Ahh :)

On a smooshed panel I stamped the birdhouse from Country Rustic, then made a post for it from one of the stamps in the Artsy Border Maker set.  I stamped the bird, masked it then stamped another.  The grassy area is from Mixed Media Elements.

The sold sign is white chalk marker on black card, attached with a brad (one less on Brad Mountain now!).

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for more fabulous inspiration from the Design Team.    Don't forget to leave a comment there to be entered into our monthly draw for a $10 gift certificate.

OK, so Darnell has challenged us to share our biggest card booboo on April Fool's Day.  Not our ugliest card, but one that slipped through Quality Control.  Got a photo of one of those?  Me too!

Doesn't look too bad so far, does it?  How about this view?

Somebody said it would be good to give to a left-handed person...

You've only got today to join in, so get your skates on and link up here.

Welcome to a new CASEplorations challenge.  This month we're CASEing this fabulous card by Donna Mikasa of Three Umbrellas.   Donna's gorgeous cards are always recognisable by their clean lines and bright colours.

There's plenty of CASE inspiration here:  bright colours, splatters (oh, yes!), die cuts, feathers, black sentiment banner, five image elements (three or five, always good).  So what did I go for?

I've kept with the feathers theme and the bright colours (and splatters!) but gone for three elements.  I inked up the large feather mask from ARTplorations Feathers and Arrows Large stencil using Distress Inks, spritzed then laid them onto the card and pressed the ink out.  I started with the centre one, then did the outer ones, flipping the mask.  Then I added splatter and a sentiment from Blossom Overture.

Check out how the rest of the team have CASEd Donna's card, as well as Donna's own CASE here, and join in for a chance to win.

ETA:  I'm adding this to Simplicity One Layer Card Challenge, where the theme is 'As You Wish'.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge - Sunshine

So here's Post No. 2 of the day and it's for The Mixed Media Card Challenge.

So, welcome to The Mixed Media Card Challenge, which is Sunshine with an option of Bricks.

I started off by smooshing Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn onto a piece of card.  Once that was dry I sponged a sun using Dylusions Lemon Zest paint.  Added some torn washi tape for flower stalks, then ran the brick embossing folder over the panel.  I added some green Gelato at the base, then attached some Prima flowers with brads (got to get rid of the huge stash somehow!), then adhered the panel to my base card.  I wrote the 'hello' with a white Posca pen on black card then trimmed it and popped it up with a couple of foam squares.

Craft Stamper Take It, Make It - Spring Flowers

Busy blog day for me - this is the first of four posts!  These will be appearing throughout the day:

Post No. 2 - The Mixed Media Card Challenge
Post No. 3 - CASEplorations
Post No. 4 - BooBoo on April Fool's Day

So.  Welcome to the April Craft Stamper Take It, Make It challenge!

This month's theme is take a technique or theme, and it's Spring Flowers.  Your flowers don't have to be stamped, but there has to be stamping somewhere on your project.  The other thing to remember is that you should only have the one project in your post to be eligible for prizes.  The full rules can be found on the Craft Stamper blog.

This month's sponsor is Traplet Publications who produce Craft Stamper Magazine, along with other titles and the prize for one randomly chosen winner is ALL SIX Kate Crane Art Journalling DVDs!  How's that for a prize!

The winner chosen by the Design Team will have their winning entry published in Craft Stamper magazine (so hold on to it!), along with a winner's profile, and be invited to guest design on a future challenge.

For my card, I stencilled clear embossing paste through a Memory Box hexagon stencil, then once that had dried I coloured the card panel with Distress Paints.  Using the same shades of Distress Ink I stamped my flower and stem (PaperArtsy) and added a sentiment and some grunge stamping (STAMPlorations).

What will you make inspired by Spring Flowers? Link your entry up here but remember - only one project in your post!
