STAMPlorations 7th Birthday Celebration - Day 1

It's our 7th birthday celebration, yay!  We've got loads of inspiration for you all week, and loads of ways you can celebrate with us and win.  Check out all the details over on the main blog here.

For today's card I've used a new product to STAMPlorations, Squares Flexitemplate, one of a series designed by our very own Monika Skinner.

I ink blended the background while holding down the square template - you could use masking tape and reposition it as you go, but I just held it with my fingers.  Then I stamped the Bloomfully: Thankful image and squiggled around the frame.

All products in the store, including the birthday release, are instantly 10% off in October, and if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get a further 20% off AND you'll get this not-yet-released Just Plaid square stencil.

Don't forget to check out all the ways you can win on the main blog!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #289

It's Inspiration Tuesday on the STAMPlorations blog and I've got a Christmas card for you - I really need to get on with them!

I've used one of the Typografia Christmas stamps on an ombré background, and added some cut out holly leaves and berries from Layered Holly.

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog to see what the rest of the design team have created, and don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $15 gift code to the store.  When you're shopping at STAMPlorations, don't forget to use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY for 20% off the main store and digital store.

Seize The Birthday - Use Your Scraps

Hello, we've got a new challenge for you at Seize The Birthday - Use Your Scraps.  I think we can all play along with that one!

I couldn't decide which of my (many) bags of scraps I should use, so I just pulled out a few random bits and pieces to see what I could make with them.  I ended up with a collage-y butterfly-themed card.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to see what the rest of the DT and our surprise party guest Angie have done with their scraps, and play along with us.  Or you can play along with any birthday-themed project in our Anything Goes challenge if you prefer.

Seize The Birthday - 200th Celebration Winner

Well, it wasn't an easy task, finding a winner, as some people hadn't met all of the criteria to be eligible for a prize (commenting on all blogs, entering a card into the challenge and stating how they were inspired).

With the help of Random.org, the first person picked that met all the criteria was:

Jenny Martin

Congratulations Jenny, I'll be in touch about getting the prize to you.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #288

It's Tuesday, so it's STAMPlorations Inspiration.  I'm beginning to make inroads into my Christmas cardmaking and I started with a quick and easy one.  I sponged some Distress Inks onto my card, spritzed and blotted to create a snowstorm, then added some stamping from my set Layered Snowman.

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the team, and don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $15 gift code.  You can get 20% off the main store and digi store when you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #287 - National Coffee Day Hop

It's National Coffee Day, and STAMPlorations are participating with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop.  I've used Coffee Cup - Large and Sugar Rush, both of which are now available as a digital set.

We've got two prizes on offer, all you have to do is leave a comment on the STAMPlorations blog post between 29 September and 6 October for your chance to win either:

- a $20 gift code
- Zen Coffee 1 cover plate die

You'll find selected tea/coffee-themed stamps at 20% off by clicking on this link, and if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get a further 20% off - bargain!

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog to see what the rest of the team have created, and to leave a comment.  Good luck!

Happy Birthday, Nancy!

Today we're celebrating a special birthday for blog friend Nancy, aka Scandinancy Creates.  After all, it's not every day you reach 75!  Loll has created a linky party on her blog, Stamping With Loll, so that any friends of Nancy can post a card there to wish her happy birthday.

Nancy likes her stencils, so I thought I'd make a stencil card.  I used Donna Downey Flowers in Vase 2 (8x8 in) with PaperArtsy Infusions on a 7x5 pice of mixed media card.  The image didn't pop enough for my liking so I added some doodling with a Pentel brush pen.  I also got a reverse image by flipping the stencil, and did a couple more in a different colourway, so they might appear on the blog at some point.

I hope the card gets to you in time, Nancy, and that you have a wonderful birthday!
