Poinsettia Christmas

I've been playing with the Penny Black Scarlet Majesty cling stamp, one of my absolute favourites.  This first one is on mixed media paper using Distress Inks, with a touch of black pen to add tension.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

I'm entering this into Penny Black Saturday challenge - Christmas.

...or Hedgie

I did this next one on Hunkydory Ink Me card and went for a cleaner image, adding shading with coloured pencils.  The sentiment is from Uniko Studio.

Please take our badge ;)

While the stamp was still in the MISTI I spritzed and stamped off and got this image.  It needed a little help, so I outlined it and added veins for a bit of definition.  The sentiment is from MFT.

I'm entering this one in Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

I got a couple more stamp-offs that you can see in this group picture.  Not a bad morning's work, eh?

STAMPlorations Inspiration #321

Today's STAMPlorations inspiration is brought to you by Carved Flowers, following my Playing Cards With A Friend session with Michele F, aka I Card Everyone.

I was wowed by the pretty cone flowers on one of her cards, so I made this card using a colour combination that Michele uses so well, and I hardly ever use - yellow and grey.

All images and sentiment are from Carved Flowers.  Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the team, and don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $15 prize code to the store.  Whenever you're shopping, you can get 20% off by using my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY.

I'm adding this to the gallery at The Flower Challenge - CAS

and AAA Birthday Card Challenge - Flowers.

Blooming Great

The postman has been busy this week delivering crafty supplies that may have fallen into my Easter basket :)

I had fun playing with this Tim Holtz Brushstroke Flowers 3 die.  I cut out all the pieces from mixed media paper, then dipped each piece into spritzed Distress Inks.  Once they'd dried I layered them all up onto a card that I'd splattered and stamped a sentiment onto.

I'm actually playing in a few challenges!

Watermarking

I'm over on the STAMPlorations blog tonight with four cards using a stamp from the current STAMP club set, Bloomful, which you can see on the background of this card.

I sponged a card panel with Distress Oxides then spritzed my stamp with water before stamping onto the card. The longer you leave the stamp in position the better the image 'bleaches' a watermark.  I added a large helenium image coloured with Distress Inks and pencils, and a sentiment banner.  I almost always stamp sentiments in black, but I thought black would have been too harsh on this card.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #202

It's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and today we're focusing on my line of stamps, The Bee's Knees.  For the next week they're all 10% off, and if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY when you're buying, you'll get a further 20% off.

I've used one of my new sets, Carved Flowers, to make a direct-to-stamp, watercoloury arrangement with Distress Inks.

Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the team, and don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store.

I'm playing along at The Flower Challenge where this month's theme is your latest stamps.  Ok!

Pink Rose

My sort-of-New-Year's-resolution is to enter more challenges.  Last year I hardly got round to entering any, compared to previous years.  So I'm making a start with this one layer card, which is totally inspired by Erum Tasneem's faux dimension card on her guest appearance on Jennifer Mcguire's blog on 8 January.

I'm not getting off to a very good start, because one of the challenges I made this card for have already closed!  So I'd better get on with it.  I'm entering this into:-

The Flower Challenge - Pink & Grey

Loll's new challenge CAS Stencil - Sponging

Watercooler Wednesday - All About Occasions

and The Card Concept - Pink Party

ETA:  The flower stamp is Inked Rose from Altenew.

Seize The Birthday - Clean And Simple

We've got a new challenge for you at Seize The Birthday, and this time it's CAS (Clean and Simple).  I found this half-finished stamped and no-line coloured panel in my stash, so I mounted it onto navy card and added a sentiment from Altenew.

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to check out what the rest of the design team, and our surprise party guest Marianne, have made, and play along with us.

I'm linking this to the Flower Challenge - Special Occasion.

Sketchy Florals

I love, love, love this Sketchy Florals stamp so much that I've left it on my MISTI so that I can keep playing with it (all I need is the time to play!).  But a bit of sloshing is all it takes to make a very quick one-layer card.

I'm playing along at The Flower Challenge - One Layer Card.

Hot Pink Tulips

Been sloshing again, it's habit-forming.  Again, using Distress Re-inkers and a broad waterbrush to paint tulips (sort of).  I toyed with the idea of scribbling flower outlines but decided against it for this one.  But my fingers are itching...

I'm entering this into The Challenge Keywords.  I've hit every one except square.

We're off to a summer street party now.  And in typical English fashion, it's raining.

Words To Live By

Just a quickie post from me, a G&T calls ;)

Playing along with The Flower Challenge, Anything Goes with this sloshed Distress Ink painting, with a few STAMPlorations grunge stamps added.

Hopefully it's now with the intended recipient :)

Seize The Birthday - Colour Splash

Hello, and welcome to another Seize The Birthday challenge!  This time it's Colour Splash (black, white and a splash of colour).

I've been crushing on this stamp set from Concord & 9th ever since I saw it, and I've finally succumbed.  And I made a mess with my first stamping of it.  The lines smudged on the two rightmost petals, but I couldn't bear to throw it away.  I know it's only card, and I've got a mountain of the stuff, but it's such a lovely image I just couldn't throw it.  So I used Black Soot Distress Ink to blend hide the smudging.  The splash of colour comes from a Tombow pen and a snippet of pink card (Memory Box Paintbrush Happy).

Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the design team, and from our  lovely guest designer, Anita of Neet & Crafty, then play along with us.  You don't have to keep to the Colour Splash theme, as long as it's a birthday creation.

I'm entering this into The Flower Challenge, Anything Goes.

ETA:  I'm also playing along at Where Creativity Meets C9 - Case a Designer.

I've CASEd this card of Lynn's.  The single flower, watercoloured; the splash of pink; the angled sentiment.

Focal Point

I've had a bit of a run on sympathy cards lately so I needed to replenish my stash.  I smooshed some Distress Inks on mixed media paper, stamped the flower (Artemis) and sentiment (Clearly Besotted) then added some text in the background, then mounted the panel onto coordinating card.

I'm playing along with Virginia's View challenge, Focal Point,

and a new challenge, The Flower Challenge, where the first theme is Anything Goes.

I'm over at STAMPlorations tonight with a set of ATCs using the new STAMP Club set.  Here's a peek, but pop on over for a proper look.
