I'm Late!

I'm late on two counts.  No, wait - three:

  • Joining The Pattern Play online card class
  • Handing in my Day 1 homework (nothing's changed there, then)
  • Joining the baker's twine trend (can you believe that I've left it till now?)

I joined my first ever online class, Pattern Play, last night so I'm nearly two days behind most people.  And I don't want to do the Day 2 lesson until I've finished and posted my homework for Day 1.  So today, I've spent a lot (and I mean a LOT) of time sifting through a few boxes of patterned paper and snippets, sorting them according to the principles learned in Lesson 1 in the hope that it would make it easier to use patterned paper.  And it's starting to.

Since I started blogging my style has gone CAS-er and CAS-er, which doesn't help the enormous stash of patterned paper that I have.  So when therapy comes along in the shape of a class on using patterned paper, there was only one thing to do - join in!

So here's my homework for Day 1, but just to complicate things, I've used the sketch from The Paper Players:

I'm off now to look at Day 2.

  1. Lol, I know that feeling Shirley! My cards have become more CAS lately, which is the style I'm most comfortable with, but I have so much paper that I just need to use up!

This is a lovely card, perfect for using up papers and just right for the challenge.

  2. I have the same problem - I'm going CASer and CASer and using less and less patterned paper. Sadly, new paper keeps showing up in my stash!! I'm enjoying the class. I've put together cards each day that I don't hate!!! I do like the papers you put together - it's just such a cheerful card and (other than the time spent sorting papers) looks like it came together easily!

  3. Hey, me too! I was just thinking that the other day, how ever since I've been entering challenges I seem to be doing more stamping and die cutting and using less paper. Doesn't stop me buying it though!I hope you enjoy the class, I've haven't ventured in to that realm yet. I like your take on the sketch and use of patterned paper

  4. If I were your teacher, you would be getting an A+ and at least 10 gold stars on your homework assignment! Swell job coordinating the colors & patterns - love the pop of color that the dark coral creates!

Off to Calgary tomorrow to visit our daughter for a few days so I won't be out and about in blog land until I return. Happy crafting!

  9. Hey you're Pattern Playing too - isn't it amazing? I think these online classes are fantastic. I love this card (love that sketch!) and saw your blue beauty too. Don't you love playing with embossing and inks on top of PP. So much texture. See ya in school ;)
