Craft Stamper Take It, Make It - Take a Technique

Hello, and welcome to a new challenge at Craft Stamper.  This month we want you to Take a Technique.

As you probably know, Craft Stamper magazine has had a fabulous makeover, and the new strapline is:
Ink Stitch Paint Collage Print Paper
so if your creation includes any of the above techniques, as well as stamping (of course), then it's eligible for our challenge.

This month's challenge is being sponsored by Calico Craft Parts, who are providing this fabulous prize for one randomly drawn entrant:

Top row left to right: 3" plain ATB cube kit, mini cogs style 1, geometric cut out ATC blank.
Middle row left to right: Mini fancy shapes 1 wood plaques, 2" square aperture ATB cube kit, mini crowns style 3.
Bottom row left to right: Fleur De Lis frame ATC blank, Mini butterflies style 3, Fancy cut out frame ATC blank.

The Design Team were lucky enough to be given some ATBs (Artist Trading Blocks) to play with, but the challenge is not about ATBs, it's about techniques, so you can submit a card, journal, 3D piece - anything at all as long as there's proper stamping on it and it covers one of the techniques.

I used the 3" plain ATB cube kit.  Stuck it together, two layers of gesso, one layer of turquoise paint.  On a piece of white card I slurped, smooshed and sloshed some Distress Inks then partially stamped some text over it, and cut it into 3" squares.  I edged the pieces with Walnut Stain then distressed the edges, and stuck them to my block.  I stamped the dragonfly on the spare card, cut out and adhered to the top of the block.  Here's another view:

Pop on over to the Craft Stamper blog for some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, and join in to win.  Don't forget - the challenge is not about ATBs, it's about technique:

Ink Stitch Paint Collage Print Paper
(and stamp!)

And don't forget, the winner chosen by the Design Team will get their creation in print, a two-page profile and a guest designer spot.

  3. WOW, WOW. WOW! Incredible project Shirley! First thing I thought of was a "Jack-In-a-Box"...all that was missing was the handle!

....hmmmmm.....can you even buy a Jaci-In-A-Box anymore? If not, perhaps it's time for some toy company to reintroduce them. Imagine the challenge of trying to market a toy that requires actual manual labor to operate rather than technology!
