A Sneak Peek And A Couple of Challenges

Helloooo!  I've not been playing much in challenges lately, been a bit busy with one thing or another, including making samples for my new release of The Bee's Knees Christmas stamps.  Here's a little sneak peek of what I've been up to.  You'll get to see them in full next week:

I've managed to find time to make some cards for challenges this week.

My first card uses a tree from a NBUS Tim Holtz set, and a star from Technique Tuesday, all coloured with Distress Inks (of course!).

I'm entering this in CAS Watercolour Challenge - Tree:

and Simon Says STAMPtember Tim Holtz:

The second challenge is Twofer - Leaves:

I used the larger stamp from the Leaf Canopy set by Altenew to create a watercoloury birthday card using Distress Inks and spritzing (sentiment by Stamps By Me), and also a wedding card, which was totally inspired by this card of Karen Dunbrook's.  This time I stamped in my much-neglected Distress Oxides then die-cut the image.  The background was created with a 3D embossing folder (Crafters Companion Ornate Lace).  The sentiment is a peel-off (gasp!).  Don't judge, I've got a boxload of them to use up :D

  1. Breathtaking card designs, Shirley! The gorgeous lacy texture on the wedding card is so elegant, just like a bridal veil and your beautiful leaf bouquet tied with gold is superb for an autumn wedding! I don't judge about peel-offs, especially gold ones ~ and this one is perfect for that spot! I also love the warmth of your color blending under your leaves on your birthday card! Love the border treatment and awesome design of that sediment! (Your Christmas tree card is stunning, too ~ so you! Good luck with your new amazing release!) Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell

  7. The lace on your wedding card looks like it could have come directly from Belgium; it's gorgeous! I do love the bunches of branches which add the perfect amount of color to all that lovely texture. And your birthday card is amazing!!! Love that spritzy look of the watercolors. And I have a few of those sticker sentiments left, too! Thank you for joining us at the Twofer Challenge, Shirley! Beautiful cards. Bev

  8. That's such a fun tree, Shirley ... the speckles around it really do make it seem as though it's partying! Gorgeous twofer! The embossed lace surround on your wedding card is so deeply 'etched' ... elegant, rich and such a lovely complement to that cascading sprig of gold tied leafy branches! The soft, unstructured look of your second design is delicious ... rich and glowing, as though the sun is shining on those autumn leaves from behind! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
