All Is Calm

This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge, hosted by Susan, is to add some fake snow to your one layer card.  I think I need to study Heather's sponging techniques a little closer, as my snow looks more like cloud!

The colour scheme at ColourQ is

The shades aren't exact, but they're close (enough).  If you look closely, there are two shades of blue on the tree baubles (as well as turquoise Stickles).

The tree stamp and sentiment are both from Penny Black.

  1. Looks like snow to me (although I hope there's Christmas trees in heaven, so clouds could work too!) Love the softness from the sponging and the pretty tree image!

  5. Your work with sponge and ink is always so impressive, Shirley ... I can never manage to achieve the fab effects in the same way at all (lots more practice needed then!). Looovely tree with the different colour blues and stickles. BTW, I visited Paper Smooches from your link ... big thanks 'cause it was my first time there (and it lasted a while!) ... and I found you were a Featured Player there with your Yellow Birdie card ... congratulations! Anita :)

  7. Looks like snow to me too! What a great idea to use a label die for the base of the card. I think your sponging is absolutely perfect! You are just way to hard on yourself - this card is awesome!
