Bird On A Wire

Well, I can only blame Jenny for this.  She makes some gorgeous cards with this bird die, so I had to get my own.  She's such an enabler ;)

For my coral panel I covered a piece of mixed media paper with gesso then added Distress Paints (Mustard Seed, Festive Berries) tried ghosting with the leaf stencil and it didn't work, so I sponged Pickled Raspberry over it.  I diecut the bird from a Gelli print from my stash ad added a self-adhesive gem for the eye, added some waxed cotton for it to sit on, and made a border from strips of washi tape.  I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Mixed Media World - Use Bright Colours

Simon Says Monday Challenge - Don't Abandon The Coral

Stamps and Stencils - Anything Goes

  7. Whoa Nelly, that BG is awesome. Funny that you mentioned Jenny for the die. I thought of her CASE of Kimberly's card when I saw that POP of color. My Gelli just arrived today. We'll see what happens.

  8. What an absolutely fantastic card you've created here! I am a lover of bright colors, so I adored the background and how you put together so many great colors so skillfully. I liked how you made the bird the darker part of the image and the background brighter, which is a clever twist on the way I typically see cards made. I'm glad you got the bird die (even if you blame someone else's naughty influence for it)! Heck, we all need some naughty influences like that in the crafting world! You did this birdie proud and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
