CASEplorations with Virginia Lu

It's CASEplorations time again, and this month we're CASEing this fabulous card by the wonderfully talented Virginia Lu:

Virginia's Card
Isn't it gorgeous?  I love that brilliant white vellum.  Which I don't have (I have every other shade instead), so it's a case of CASEing other elements of Virginia's card.  So, what's in there?

Diametrically opposed floral groupings
Gold embossing
White vellum
Coloured flowers
Gold thread loop
Kraft/black/white sentiment panel
Three flower/disc embellishments
Wedding theme

Here's what I went with:

Gold embossing on gold vellum, then I coloured the marigolds on the reverse.  The contrast wasn't strong enough through the gold vellum so I also coloured the marigolds on the front as well.

I fussy cut the flowers, stamped the DNA strip along the base of a piece of card, rounded the corners and punched a hole to turn it into a tag, stamped the sentiment on kraft, tucked the flowers behind the sentiment panel but overhanging, added some gold thread and three sequins.

Check the STAMPlorations blog to see Virginia's CASE of her own card, and how the rest of the design team have CASEd Virginia's card, then CASE any one of them and hook it up to the CASEplorations playground.  Prizes up for grabs...

Here's what I used:

Mixed Media Grunge
The Birds and the Blooms

  2. Gold vellum - how awesome! Like the black and white Baker's twine and how it repeats the pattern at the bottom!
