The Mixed Media Card Challenge - Reminder

Here's another little reminder about the Mixed Media Card Challenge, where the theme is Butterflies, with the optional element of Gold.

I made this card a few months ago, so this is what I think I did: mixed some lilac glitter powder into some embossing paste (I won't be doing it again!  I remember it lost all its sparkle) then inked the grid image and stamped it onto a piece of card.  Once dry, I tore around the edges.  I stamped some grunge images from Mixed Media Grunge onto the base card and added some strips of washi tape. I stamped the butterfly (Uniko Studio) then cut out a butterfly image from a scrap of acetate that had been inked with alcohol inks and overstamped.  My nod to gold is the two staples holding the acetate onto the stamped butterfly image.

There's still time to join in with the challenge here, so come and join us!

  1. So you inked the background stamp with embossing paste? I am confused! It looks so pretty and I was trying to figure out how you did it!

    1. I think it may have been modelling paste, Becca. I remember mixing it up on a kraft sheet and spreading it out. The stamped image is quite textural and tactile - you can see all the schlurp marks!

  4. Wow ... the texture is amazing from your paste and glitter. Too bad it's not sparkly like you had hoped, but it really does have a lot of added texture from the glitter. LOVE the butterfly. The alcohol inks on acetate is so vibrant ... and I LOVE those two gold staples --- so creative! xx
