Floral Sympathy


The current challenge at The Card Concept is to use a floral theme following one of the defined styles, and this week I know what style I am (yay!).  There's not much room for confusion with this card - clean and simple.


I've used the inspiration from Muse, provided this week by guest muse, Lisa Haines:


The three image stamps have a solid background, but I swooshed the ink pad (Memento Sweet Plum) so that it was streaky.  Kind of looks like rain in the background.  I added a few scored lines for a bit more interest and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.

    This is gorgeous, Shirley! I love that you chose sweet plum, and how you created a streaky effect with your ink pad...it's really pretty! Love the addition of the score lines, too!

    Introducing a new technique by Shirley - "Swooshing". I can see it taking the world by storm!! I love your swooshing effect. I get it sometimes when I use my markers directly onto stamps. Your CAS design is stunning xx

    What a wonderful card!! I especially love the awesome textured look you achieved with yoru ink pad and love the pretty plum/purple color your chose for your card!

    It's also a very touching card and perfect for a Sympathy card!

    Beautiful 'swooshing' (definitely a great word for this cool technique!). Love the contrast of the vibrant color with the white!
