STAMPlorations Sketch #14

I'm playing Stretch-A-Sketch at STAMPlorations.  Here's the sketch:

Well, the basic shape is there - narrow top section, broad bottom section and something just above centre.  Just swapped, squashed and stretched it a bit.  A lot.  I've used stamps from the new release, and Shery is having a fantastic pre-release sale - check out the full details on the blog.  Here's a little preview:

This card made itself, really.  I wanted to have the wording across the top, and I'd already stamped the cake onto spare card.  When I laid the cake on the card for placement of the "celebrate" sentiment I decided it would all look quite striking left uncoloured.  So that's what it is.  I did think about adding sequins or glossy accents or grey shading but decided to be very brave and add nothing - except a teensy weensy bit of Diamond Stickles on the candle flames.

So play along for the chance of winning 3 digital products from All About Scrapping and a guest design spot in a future sketch challenge.  Don't forget, if you played along with Sketch #13 and you're playing with this sketch and the June challenge, you could be in with a chance of winning this yummy prize:

Now that's worth making a few cards for!

  7. The black & white is soooo dynamic! No color needed. Listening to your "Spidey senses" was definitely the right call! The wee bit of sparkle in the candles is all that this card needed (love that you left the sparkles clear!)

    Awesome card Shirley :)

  8. Hi Shirley. Love the B&W, very dramatic! Some cards simply don't want to be embellished, glad you decided to be brave, like it a lot! Have a great day! hugs Monika xxx
