Silver Holly

Penny Black are having a Cute to Elegant week, with a chance every day to win a giveaway.

They're also providing a sketch if you want to play along each day.  This is Monday's sketch which I thought I would use for the Dynamic Duos colour challenge of Navy and Silver:

I stamped the Brush Holly 2789J with Versamark and embossed with silver, and sponged the surrounding area with Faded Jeans distress ink.  I masked the base card and stamped the berry branch (from 30-136 A Wish for Peace) with Faded Jeans, and added sponging, then sponged a layer of Faded Jeans above. The silver strip is double-sided tape with Mega Flakes added to it.  The sentiment is from 30-087 Winter Wonders.

  1. Very elegant! Love the multi-media approach here - the masked blue line, the silver 'tape, the embossing and the masked panel! (stop by tomorrow so you can see the 'improved' Gloria card! - you know me so well - you were right, I couldn't just leave it! lol)

  3. Beautiful. Definitely a labour intensive card but well worth the effort. The sponging is so well blended. Love the sparkle effect of the tape with the mega flakes.
