Time Is On My Side
This week's One Layer Wednesday card challenge kept me awake half the night. The challenge, set by Ardyth, is to create a card inspired by your favourite song, singer, composer, performer or something else musical. Hours of mentally going through my music, and my stamps, and I was still wide awake at 2am - I just couldn't switch off.
One of my favourite bands is The Rolling Stones, but a lot of their song titles don't lend themselves to a cardmaking challenge: Sister Morphine? Sympathy for the Devil? Honky Tonk Women? Dead Flowers? Mother's Little Helper? However, one of their early songs is called, "Time Is On My Side", which works perfectly with this clock stamp and sentiment.
I've based the design on the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch, colouring in different elements of the watch faces and adding grey shadow to represent the different circles in the design:
And I've used the colour scheme from CR84FN:
The watch is from Kanban 9039 Jasper, and the sentiment is from Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes.

I'll take a Mother's Little Helper, please! lol! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one crazy (I mean that in the nicest possible way!) enough to be thinking about cards in the middle of the night! This is a great interpretation and a wonderful sentiment - it really got me thinking! Thanks for playing along with this week's OLW!
ReplyDeleteHey, sign me up for this card crazy club! I do my best thinking when I should be sleeping too! It was well worth the the lack of sleep because you came up with a dandy idea and produced an amazing card! Great sentiment - will be pondering that one for a bit!
