Continuing with Ardyth's birthday party, this week's One Layer Wednesday, hosted by the Birthday Girl herself, is to case one of her cards or make a birthday card, as long as it's one layer.
Ardyth does precise. I don't do precise. As you can see. The most precise I got was to keep the repeat colour pattern on the flowers. I chose flowers deliberately - I did think about using dots, but there's no hiding behind dots, is there? And I know embellies should be kept to a minimum, but I couldn't resist.
I used the colour scheme from ColourQ:
I cased Michelle's beautiful inspiration card for Muse:
And also took my inspiration from Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect challenge:
In case you're wondering - the continuous circle (or oblong in my case) of colour.
Stamps: Paper Smooches Bold Blooms, Sentiment Sampler
Such a sweet card, Shirley, and it definitely has an "Ardyth" feel to it! Love the colors--reminds me of a Hawaiian lei.
ReplyDelete"Ardyth does precise". Now that's an understatement, Shirley. LOL. This is so PS cute.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh! I do precise sometimes after about 20 tries. You obviously missed my lesson about "If you can't be precise, make sure it looks like you did it on purpose!". Anyway, I LOVE your funky version of Michelle's Muse - brighter and less folksy, but clearly inspired by the original. Thanks for playing along with OLW and Muse, my friend!
ReplyDeleteSo cool!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm looking at your card and thinking that yes...you pulled off precise with perfectly stamped images and words! Love the colors and the "groovy" look that you created (just like the daisies that we would draw on our blue jeans and denim jackets!)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a special card! I love the little bits of bling highlighting the flowers! Thanks for joining us at colourQ!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Shirley - I love all your bright happy flowers:) hugs xx
